Okinawa Prefectural Government Investigated the OIST Clinic

The Okinawa Prefectural Government conducted an on-site investigation of the OIST Clinic on 14 March, regarding OIST's October, 2018 application to re-open its Clinic, which had been closed. The investigative team and staff from the Okinawa Prefecture Medical Policy Division and Chubu Public Health Center, interviewed the OIST Clinic doctor, reviewed medical records, and concluded that the Clinic had "re-opened" properly.  The investigation was carried out as a result of the Okinawa Times article reporting that the Clinic hasn't demonstrated actual medical practice and has continued to be closed. The Prefecture's Medical Policy Division explained to the Okinawa Times that, "There are no clear criteria for re-opening the Clinic, but we confirmed that medical services have been provided."
